XV. Read, translate and retell the text using the introductory phrases.
Cranes
There are different kinds of cranes: tower cranes, jib cranes, locomotive cranes, electric tower cranes, etc. Electric tower cranes are operated electrically. They have four electric motors. Electric tower cranes are used for different kinds of work. They may be used for loading and unloading ships, trucks, for construction of houses, factories, bridges, etc.
Now a few words about the KB-self-propelled tower crane. The KB-self-propelled tower crane is intended for construction of up to 3-storeyd buildings. It has a multi-motor electric drive. All mechanisms of the crane as well as the control equipment, tower with the jib and the counterweight are mounted on the turntable. The turntable is connected to the running undercarriage (ходовой механизм), resting on four wheels, the two of which are driving. The crane tower and the jib are of a latticed rectangular section (прямоугольное сечение). For the transportation of the crane the jib is folded (fold – складывать). The crane is controlled from the mounted (навесной) cab installed in the tower.

8. Грузовой момент – это произведение поднимаемого груза на вылет стрелы.
9. Стрелоподъемный полиспаст используется для подъема стрелы.
10. Опорная часть крана выполнена в форме портала на колесах.
