Phil, At 0900 on 17.12.2011 due to strong NW'ly wind and N'ly swell pitching reached 5 degrees. Altered course to 300 degrees and heaving to waiting for the weather to improve. Position at 2000LT (GMT + 11 Hrs): Lat 49 deg 36.7N Long 147deg 22.1E Practically staying in place on course 315 against the wind and swell. Weather: Wind 290 deg 24 m/s Sea- 4m (visual) Swell - N 4-5m Pitch: 5 deg Roll: 4 deg Shipping seas on deck. Best regards, Zhivko

Graham, Phil, 1. Please note Kolskaya position report as follows: 0210LT (GMT+11hrs) Lat 49deg 37.5' N Long147 46,7' E Drifting to East at approximate course 093 deg; speed 2.9kn Wind: WNW (300 deg) - 23 m/s; Sea - WNW 5m Swell: N - 4-5m Barometer: 746mmHg steady 2. Max Pitch - 8 degrees; Max roll - 3 degrees 3. Icebreaker "Magadan" & tug " Neftegaz -55" have difficulty to maintain position due to heavy seas and work with reduced power to maintain heading of about 315 against the wind/seas. 4. Tug " Neftegaz -55" had section of bulwark on SB quarter torn of, the roller of running gog on SB side torn off, SB aft section of stanchions withlimiterforthe towing rope colapsed. The rubber rope protector sleeve reportedly stuck on the place of torn bulwark, so there is no immediate danger of cutting the towing line. 5.There were four blackouts since 1936 LT. 6. Weather is forecasted to remain about same in the course of the day. 7. SB lifeboat broke its lashings and is hanging on its wires. 8. Jacking local controller and some sections of corrugated steel plates on bow leg were reported torn. 9. The tow master Capt. Tersin contacted AMNGR and requested another, more powerful tug to come as a standby vessel, but was advised there is no tug available and if situations worsens they will consider sending another tug. 10. We are at about 360 nm from Port of Korsakov and a tug will require 36 hours to arrive on scene. 11. Icebreaker "Magadan" just reported that the towing beam on which is lying the towline abaft the towing fairlead was torn and it is unclear whether the towing line will not get damaged - they can not inspect area . Please advise underwriters about situation and request they push AMNGR to arrange stand by tug ASAP. Best regards, Zhivko

Phil, We are taking water in 2 preload tanks of Bow Leg (total capacity 370 cub.m)- suspecting broken vent pipes. So far pumps cope. Tried to lower legs - can not release brakes and did not work. Chopper evacuation is planned of extra personnel as a start. I can not help much here as AMNGR work in their own ways, so plan to request to board the chopper when opportunity comes. Best regards,
