При передаче в косвенной речи команд (tell, order, etc.) и просьб (ask, beg, etc.) используются структуры с инфинитивом. The boss told me to send the letters by fax. Granny asked me to buy some milk for her.

Глагол tell всегда требует после себя указания на адресата (him, her, them, the police, me, us, everybody, etc.). His wife told him he was a lazybones. He told her not to call him names.
