The interviewee uses it to display self-confidence

Don’t break the silence except to ask a question

Don’t mutter or fidget

Be patient

What Kinds of Questions Will the Interviewer(s) Ask You?

Here are some questions and sample answers to them:

1. Tell me about yourself. Don’t spend much time answering (1-2 minutes). Avoid details. Touch on four areas:

work experience

 

-

current situation.

2. What do you know about our

Highlight product, services, revenues, problems,

organization?

people, and history. “But I would love to know

 

more, particularly from your point of view.”

3.Had you thought of leaving your position before? If yes, what do you think held you there?

4.How would you describe your personality?

5.What are your strong points?

6.What are your weak points?

No job is perfect. Yet, there are pluses and minuses. Refer to [positive aspects to each position of job, learning experience.

Keep your answer short, and relevant to the position and the organization’s culture.

Present three. Relate them to that particular company and job opening.

Don’t say you have none. Give a positive answer like “I am sometimes impatient and do the work myself when we are working against tight deadlines.”

7. How did you at school?

Emphasize your best and favorite subjects. If grades were average, talk about leadership activities or jobs you took to finance your education.

8. Why do you want to work for us? This job and this company are close to what best suits you. You would like to a part of a company project, and solve a company problem.

9.What was the last book you read? Movie you saw? Sporting event you attended?

10.Have you ever done this kind of work before?

Think this through ahead of time. Select smth that matches with the company culture.

State any transferable skills. State any specific experience. Don’t undersell any study courses, voluntary work. Don’t use the phrase “I’ve only…” State willingness/ability to learn.

11. Why did you leave your last job? Avoid knocking your past jobs/bosses. Don’t be negative. Choose your words carefully. Emphasize

“mismatches”, not failings.

12.What are your career goals?

13.Can you work under pressure and to tight deadlines?

14.How much do you expect, if we offer this position to you?

Talk first about doing the job for which you are applying, then talk about longerrange plans.

Talk about strengths. Talk about work situations which have been pressured.

Stress aspects other than just the money, which are important. Say that you would expect a fair salary based on the job responsibilities, your experience and skills.
