Many contemporaries compare Berlin with a giant construction site. In the streets and squares, including the historic center of the city, old buildings are regularly restored, new ones are being built. The third module of the Courses was devoted to n e w m e t h o d s of t e a c h i n g G e r m a n as a f o r e i g n l a n g u a g e (Neue Lehr- / Lernarrangements im DaFUnterricht).

Modern multimedia classes were conducted by Dr. Uta Zändig, Professor at the University of Potsdam. At her seminars and practical classes, Dr. Zändig gave much attention to the use of moderator techniques in teaching. The Course participants considered various strategies when analyzing short texts, musicals and songs while teaching the German language.

So, for example, Dr. Zändig conducted one of her classes with a trip to Brandenburg-on- Havel, the native city of Vico Fon Byulov (Lorio) (192З-2011), the famous German comic actor, producer and writer. This city is famous for its figures of stone pug-dogs. We were looking for them there. Initially (in 2015) there were eight figures of pug-dogs in the city. Since that time, the number of pugs has steadily been increasing. And now they number in twelve. The Monument to pug-dogs was established in honor of Lorio`s famous comics about the kinds of animals becoming extinct, which was written by him in 1972. Vico Fon Byulov (Lorio) was born on the 12th of November 1923 in Branenburg-on-Havel and died on August 22, 2011 in

Ammerland (Bavaria). His stage pseudonym, “Lorio”, comes from the French word “oriole”.

The image of this bird is present in the family emblem of the Fon Byulov`s kin.

Such a combination in the teaching of area studies elements, including poems, songs, comics contributes to the rapid and conscious learning of the language. On completion of the module, each of the students prepared a presentation on the given topic with working up a fragment of the lesson. The results were summed up at the Conference “FOR and AGAIST New Methods”.

The Course participants were also offered some reports in German on the stylistics of the German language and intercultural communication, besides, a round table was organized on the exchange of information on the work of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

The Course organizers also presented the students one free day to visit any city of their choice. I managed to visit one of the most picturesque places in Germany - the town of Quedlinburg, which is located at the northern foot of the Harz Mountains in Saxony-Anhalt. Among its many sights, it is worth noting the Old Town, where one can see the frame-built houses constructed over 6 centuries ago and feel the charm of antiquity in full. The Old Town is entered on the list of UNESCO, the World Cultural and Natural Heritage.

Participation in the advanced training Courses for teachers leads to improving language and communication skills, expanding linguistic and cultural knowledge, and contributing to the further development of professional competencies.

Scientific Review of the Topics of the III International

Scientific-and-Practical Conference «Humanitarian Readings “Free Elements”»,

Sevastopol, September 13-15, 2018

At present, one of the current trends in the development of linguistics and methods of teaching foreign languages is the establishment of their closest interconnections (up to interpenetration) with other humanities: history, law, economics, philosophy, political science, etc.

So, in the course of the I I I I n t e r n a t i o n a l

e n c e « H u m a n i t a r i a n R e a d i n g s “ F r e e

E l e m e n t s ” », held in Sevastopol on the

basis of the Institute of Social Sciences and International Relations of Sevastopol State University, September 13-15, 2018, an active dialogue of philologists, political scientists, historians, lawyers and regional studies specialists took place in the framework of the discussion of modern problems of linguistics and literature, theory and methods of teaching foreign languages, as well as the theory and practice of translation and intercultural communication.

The topics of the reports presented by the participants of the conference «Humanitarian Readings “Free Elements”» affected a wide range of studies of current scientific fields located at the meeting point of such disciplines as linguistics, literary criticism, linguodidactics, political science and regional studies. The following sections worked at the conference: «Cognitivediscourse Analysis of Language and Speech», «Translation Studies and ComparativeTypological Linguistics», «Russia's National Interests and Security Issues in the Large Mediterranean Region», «Tendencies of the Formation of International Relations and the Competition of Great Powers: the evolution of the elements of "soft" and "hard power"», «Modern Trends in Methods of Teaching Foreign Languages», «History and Polycritics of Foreign and Russian Literature», «Political Linguistics».

At the opening ceremony of the conference, the welcoming speech was made by the Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation Activities of Sevastopol State University M.P. Evstigneev. During the plenary session, the project of the Joint Expert Council of Sevastopol and Crimea was presented. In light of the events of international importance in recent years connected with Crimea, the political aspect of linguistics as an important trend in the subject matter of the conference was stated in plenary reports. In particular, the scientific presentation of PhD in Philology, A.P. of the Department of Philology of the Faculty of Humanitarian Education Anastasia G. Krotova (Novosibirsk State Technical University, Novosibirsk) on the topic «Political Memes and Features of their Functioning in Internet Communication» considered the political Internet-discourse and its special case phenomena - Internet memes, analysis of which confirms the important role of the figures of the sender (politician), the addressee (internet user), the political narrative possibilities, as well as the initial political situation in enhancing the reaction and replicative activities of the representatives of the linguocultural community.

In the framework of the section «C o g n i t i v e - d i s c o u r s e A n a l y s i s o f L a n - g u a g e a n d S p e e c h », more than a dozen authors presented their scientific reports on key aspects of the study of various types of discourse, from artistic and poetic and newspaperjournalistic to political, legal and Internet communication.

The study of the specificity of the conceptual and linguistic picture of the world of the Americans on the example of a special concept, the verbal representation of which becomes the phrase (idiom) Hate Speech, is the study of PhD (France), Senior Lecturer of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Regional Studies Andrei Yu. Kalinin (Lomonosov Moscow State University, Moscow) «Hate Speech: Ethnospecificity, Import and Assimilation of the Concept», while the main areas of import and updating of this concept are jurisprudence and philosophy and sociology of law and linguistic expertise.

Doctor in Philology, Prof. of the Department of English Philology and Intercultural Communication of the Institute of Intercultural Communication and International Relations Irina A. Kuprieva together with the student of the Department of English Philology and Intercultural Communication Lyudmila V. Belova (Belgorod State National Research University, Belgorod) made a paper on the theme: «Features of the Concept “light” in English Linguistic Culture», - describing the basic and the peripheral semes of the lexeme «light» in English, taking into account the meaning of the internal form of the phraseological units included in the structure of the concept widely represented in the English picture of the world.

PhD in Philology, A.P., Associate Prof. of the Theory and Practice of Translation Department of the Institute of Social Sciences and International Relations Olga G. Skidan (Sevastopol State University, Sevastopol) in her report «Paradox in Cognitive Poetics» presented the mechanisms of paradoxical artistic thinking on the example of the conceptual oxymoron.

Cand. of Pedagogical Sciences, A.P., Associate Prof. of the Department of Philosophy, History and Law Tatyana I. Zharkova (Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, Chelyabinsk) in her report «The Role and the Importance of Knowledge of “Frenglish” in the Process of Intercultural Communication» appeals to the history of the introduction of the French words into English with a detailed review of the process of changing English under the influence of the French borrowing, which ultimately led to a significant enrichment of the lexical composition of modern English.

The research of PhD in Philology, A.P. of the Department of Theory and Practice of Translation of the Institute of Social Sciences and International Relations Natalia A. Gulevets

(Sevastopol State University, Sevastopol) «Anthropocentrism of Corporate Discourse» considers the focal problem in the intercultural aspect from the point of view of the sociocultural characteristics of the verbalization of the «man vs company» dichotomy in the text of a corporate website.

PhD in Philology, A.P., Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages of the Institute of Linguistics and Intercultural Communication Olga A. Krapivkina (Irkutsk National Research Technical University, Irkutsk) in the scientific report «On the Essence, Functions and Types of the “Judicial Interrogation” Genre» considers the leading communicative intention, the addresser factor, the addressee factor, the language structure of the genre aiming at substantiating the key function, namely: constructing a secondary reality, recovery and alignment of the crime events.

Cognitive models of updating the concept of the CRIMEAN WAR, represented by a text event in the British newspaper and epistolary discourse of the middle of the XIX century, highlighting its figurative, evaluative and conceptual components and identifying the common and differences in different types of discourse are presented in the study on «Updating the Event CRIMEAN WAR Cognitive Models of British Newspaper and Epistolary Discourse» by Senior

Lecturer of the Department of Theory and Practice of Translation of the Institute of Social Sciences and International Relations Maria Yu. Nekrasova (Sevastopol State University, Sevastopol).

The section «T r a n s l a t i o n S t u d i e s a n d C o m p a r a t i v e - T y p o l o g i c a l L i n g u i s t i c s » grouped a number of studies on the most topical issues in the framework of the challenges in focus.

Doctor in Philology, A.P., Prof. of the Department «Linguistics and Intercultural Communication» of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities Alexander A. Shuneiko together with the master student of the Department of Linguistics and Intercultural Communication Maria A. Golovtsova (Komsomolsk-on-Amur State University, Komsomolsk-on-Amur) offers for consideration the distributive method of linguistic analysis and its basic components: the main terms, essence and goals of the method illustrated with an example of research at the phonetic, lexical and syntactic levels of the language.

An overview of the main trends in the development of sociolinguistics in Belgium in the context of the national-linguistic crisis associated with the confrontation between two main ethnic groups - the Flemish and the Walloons - is presented in the article by Senior Lecturer of the Department of Theory and Practice of Translation Yulia M. Marchenko (Sevastopol State University, Sevastopol).

The co-research of PhD in Philosophy, A.P., Associate Professor of the Department of Theory and Practice of Translation of the Institute of Foreign Philology Marina Yu. Lukinova and Senior Lecturer of the Chair of Theory and Practice of Translation Elena B. Martynyuk (Crimean Federal University named after V.I. Vernadsky, Simferopol) is a study of the travelogue as a genre that most clearly reflects the individual picture of the world of the authortraveler in its personal, cultural, artistic and linguistic complex constituents.

The study on «Expressive Concretization in the Translation of the Novel by Colleen McCullough “The Thorn Birds” » of Senior Lecturer of the Department of Theory and Practice of Translation of the Institute of Social Sciences and International Relations Yulia V. Petrunina (Sevastopol State University, Sevastopol) is devoted to the analysis of the artistic effect and the reasons for using expressive particularization methods when translating from English into Russian.

Within the section «H i s t o r y a n d P o l y c r i t i c s o f F o r e i g n a n d R u s s i a n L i t e r a t u r e », a number of quite distinctive themes and areas of the research thought are noted.

For example, in the scientific work with an intriguing title: «V. Kign-Dedlov, A.P. Chekhov and the Crimea: the Story of one Letter» Doctor in Philology, Prof., Professor of the Department of Literature, Journalism and Literature Teaching Methodology Olga M. Skibina (Orenburg State Pedagogical Institute, Orenburg) on the basis of archival data reproduces the history of acquaintance, correspondence and literary connections of two writers – of known only among a narrow circle of researchers the popular in the 80-90s of the XIX century journalist, essayist, expert of the Russian and the Western European art Vladimir Kign-Dedlov and Anton P. Chekhov.

Doctor in Philology, Prof., Professor of the Department of the History of Russian Literature of the Twentieth Century of the Faculty of Philology Marina A. Khatyamova (National Research Tomsk State University, Tomsk) in the article «The Motive of Arrangement on Earth in the Literature of Russian Émigré» investigates the motive of resettlement and arrangement on earth in the works of representatives of different generations of émigré writers N. Berberova (the novel «The Last and the First») and M. Osorgin (the story «The Free Mason»), who use the «return to the soil» idea of spiritual salvation embodied also in life and work.

The scientific report «The Author's Sensory by E. Browning in the Poetic Cycle “Sonnets from the Portuguese”» of PhD, Vice-Director of the Institute of Social Sciences and International Relations for Academic Affairs Olga A. Moskalenko together with Senior Lecturer of the Department of Theory and Practice of Translation Vyacheslav P. Golubev (Sevastopol State University, Sevastopol) deals with the functioning and determination of the semantic value of sensory vocabulary (more than 400 units) as an actualizer of the author's poetic world in direct connection with emotional perception.

The problem of rethinking the genre as one of the key compositional elements in the national Belarusian poetry (on the examples of contemporary Belarusian poetry) is devoted the study by the teacher of the Department of Theory and Practice of Translation of the Translation Faculty Dmitry A. Bukayev (Minsk State Linguistic University, Belarus, Minsk).

As a promising vector of modern linguistic and literary studies may be seen the direction of scientific work by postgraduate student of the Department of General and Applied Philology, Literature and Russian Olga N. Krasnova (Altai State University, Barnaul), devoted to the analysis of the logical-semantic and semantic-syntactic organization of the vocabulary of the Christian thematic group in the text on the material of the story «Poor Liza» by N.M.

Karamzin in order to identify the underlying artistic and psychological intentions and ideological views of the characters from the perspective of the author's intentions.

One of the most large-scale and productive discussion platforms of the conference was the section «M o d e r n T r e n d s i n M e t h o d s o f T e a c h i n g F o r e i g n L a n - g u a g e s », bringing together diverse researches in the field of pedagogy, methods and didactics of more than twenty specialists from different regions.

The issues covered during the discussion were related to the organizational and methodological conditions of the most effective teaching of the undergraduate students to foreign professional discourse during the process of the practical training (I.E. Baranova, State Humanitar- ian-Technological University, Orekhovo-Zuyevo); to the principles and methods of problem and module-based techniques at foreign language classes for future lawyers (A.P. Belkina, Kursk State University, Kursk); to modern technologies of intercultural communication skills formation in the process of foreign languages learning on the basis of creating a virtual educational environment “GLOBAL CLASSROOM” (M.B. Nosova, Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia, St. Petersburg); to the educational potential of methodological functions and didactic properties of mobile technologies in teaching foreign languages (A.S. Bobunova, Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, Moscow) and many others.

As part of the organization of teaching foreign languages at school as a foundation for the formation of a future specialist capable of intercultural communication and interaction, the following questions were raised: harmonious development of the student’s language personality

(V.N. Guseinov, ANO “Educational Strategies and Initiatives”, Moscow); the use of the “MindMap” technology with the aim of mastering significant volumes of information in a foreign language (T.I. Zharkova, Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, Chelyabinsk Branch, Chelyabinsk); the choice of image-based modeling means of compensation for the understanding and perception of foreign language grammar issues by younger visually impaired students in inclusion programs of education (L.R. Denisova, School №1540, Moscow), etc.

To one of the most urgent problems in modern conditions - the formation of competences of information security of the students in the field of "Pedagogical Education" in the course of studying the discipline "Information Security in Educational Organizations" - was dedicated the scientific message of Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, A.P. Yulia I. Bogatyreva (Tula State Lev Tolstoy Pedagogical University, Tula), who identified and characterized the goals, the objectives and the range of competencies of the information personality capable of organizing a safe information and educational environment when preparing teachers in universities.

The issue of professional training of future translators through the case-study method of forming linguistic-and-cultural competence was discussed in detail in the report by Cand. of Pedagogical Sciences, A.P. Maria G. Bolshakova (Sevastopol State University, Sevastopol).

Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Prof., Professor of the Department of French Language and Linguodidactics of the Institute of Foreign Languages Galina V. Sorokovykh (Moscow City

Pedagogical University, Moscow) presented a study on the matter “Autonomy and Independence in Choosing the Trajectory of Additional Education of the Students”, - which put forward an important idea about the ways of reorganizing the system of foreign language education by expanding the possibilities of non-formal education with the indispensable condition for the autonomy and independence of the students choosing their self-development trajectory.

Universal competences of the Foreign Language discipline during the implementation of FGOS 3 ++ in modern higher education, as well as the rationale for mastering practical skills of using a foreign language at all levels of education, taking into account the presence of certain specialties for which the need for foreign language competencies increases due to the situation in the international labor market (programmers, economists, lawyers, engineers, cultural scientists, teachers and many others.) are represented in the scientific report by PhD in Linguistics, A.P., Associate Professor Nadezhda V. Merkulova (VSTU, Voronezh).

The development of innovative methods of teaching a foreign language seems to be the usage of such an interdisciplinary area as neuroscience (in particular, neurography), the experience of practical application of which is described in the work of Alexandra I. Kirillova (Donetsk Higher All-Arms Command School, Donetsk People's Republic, Donetsk).

Within the section «P o l i t i c a l l i n g u i s t i c s » it may be noted, among others, a relevant scientific research of PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of Theory and Practice of Translation of the Institute of Social Sciences and International Relations Eugenia A. Barmina (Sevastopol State University, Sevastopol) “Discourse of the “Crimean Spring” 2014: Designing Political Reality”, based on the analysis of speech means in the Englishspeaking, German-speaking , Ukrainian and Russian mass media discourse on the material of

the Crimean events with international resonance.

O.V. Onopko, Donbass Academy of Law, Donetsk); the role and the functions of satellite channels (using the example of Syrian channels) in informing and supporting the population in conditions of civil war (PhD in Philology, A.P. E.F. Sukhova, Lobachevsky University, Nizhny Novgorod); the cost of participation in the United Nations and the burden of compulsory payments for population of the UN member countries redirecting into financing merciful-and-charitable initiatives to help the victims of the current armed conflicts and religious persecution (postgraduate student P.F. Anishchik,

ANO “International Center for Christian Solidarity and Mutual Assistance”, Moscow) and many others.

A kind of summary of discussions on the general problems of the conference seems to be the reflections on the future of the system of international relations and the new world order. So, Doctor of Political Sciences, Deputy Director of the Institute of Social Sciences and International Relations on Scientific and Expert Work, Head of the Department of Political Science and International Relations Alexander A. Irkhin (Sevastopol State University, Sevastopol) in his speech touched upon the main dilemmas of the future system of international relations based on a systematic analysis of the development of two contradictory trends - globalization vs. regionalization against the backdrop of competition between the great regional powers and the US for the future world order.

Doctor of Political Sciences, Prof., Professor of the Department of Political Science and International Relations of the Institute of Social Sciences and International Relations Alexander A. Chemshit (Sevastopol State University, Sevastopol) in his work traces the evolution of the formation of the New World Order and reveals the possible world order scenarios based on a multipolar world.

To the search for possible trends and prospects for the development of the world community in the postmodern era, taking into account the territorial branding as a driver of economic growth and international authority of the state, is devoted the scientific study “The World Order in Postmodern Conditions: in Search of a New Paradigm” by Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor of the Department of Political Science and Sociology, Faculty of Economics and Law, Rashid T. Mukhaev together with the student of the Department of Political Science and Sociology Daria V. Erokhina (Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, Moscow).

As a special patriotic note, the presentation of the edition «Okopnaya Pravda of Don Steppes» was given by the Researcher of Southern Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SSC RAS), the Head of the Headquarters of the Regional Branch of the Immortal Regiment of Russia in the Rostov region, the Chairman of the council of the Russian Military

Sevastopol, became an effective scientific platform for the mutual exchange of experience and ideas for researchers from various scientific fields from linguistics and literary criticism and methods of teaching foreign languages to history, political science, international law, etc.

An extensive list of the topics of the conference once again testifies to the key, centerforming position that philology rightfully occupies in relation to other humanities, being at the conditional point of intersection of research vectors. Along with this, the problem of teaching foreign language communication in the conditions of the modern world order also acquires indisputable relevance, which is eloquently confirmed by the heightened scientific interest in the problems of methods and didactics of teaching foreign languages.

As an important indicator of the scientific significance of the conference can serve, first of all, its geographical scale (Minsk, Belarus; Donetsk, DNR; Moscow, St. Petersburg, Barnaul, Belgorod, Voronezh, Yekaterinburg, Irkutsk, Omsk, Kazan, Krasnodar, Krasnoyarsk, Komso- molsk-on-Amur, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Orenburg, Rostov-on-Don, Ryazan, Sevastopol, Simferopol, Sochi, Tver, Tomsk, Tula, Chelyabinsk, etc.), as well as the attention paid to it from both eminent scientists and young beginning researchers - postgraduate students, undergraduates, master students, etc.

The results of the discussions and the total importance of the III International scientific- and-practical conference «Humanitarian Readings “Free Elements”» seem to be a worthy response to the current challenges from the scientific community and modern society in Russia and abroad.

Requirements for formatting articles for the Scientific Journal “Modern linguistic and methodical-and-didactic research”

The minimum volume of the paper is 8-10 pages in the A4 format (CD, Flash Card or e- mail), interval – 1, Times New Roman font, 12 pt., with the following margines: left – 25 mm, right, top and bottom – 20 mm. The electronic form should be prepared with MS Word 7.0 text editor or its later versions. The Universal Decimal Classification code number is put in the upper left corner of the first page in bold type, 12 pt. The next line in the center indicates the title of the article. The title of the article is printed in a 12-pt SEMI-SCRIPTABLE FONT, centered without indentation. Point at the end of the title is not set. Before and after the title - a space of 1 interval. The name of the author (authors) is indicated under the title.

Next in the table there should be information about the author of the article: place of work, academic title, position, contact e-mail.

Under the information about the author (authors), a brief abstract of an article with a volume of at least 16 lines is presented, 10 pt is normal, without indenting a paragraph, aligning to the width. The abstract should have the following structure: statement of the problem, results of the study, results conclusions.

After the annotation, the key words (8-10 words and phrases) that are relevant for the article are given.

The Scientific Journal site http://nllinguistica.ru/ presents all information from both the technical preparation of scientific articles to the press and the requirements for compiling "abstracts to scientific articles" and "selecting keywords."

The text should be typed in Times New Roman font, 12 pt., in one column. Justified alignment of the paragraph is used. The paragraph first line indentation is 1 cm. All paragraphs should only be installed automatically - done-in MS Word!

The article should contain the following elements of the structure, reflecting the main aspects of the study:

The examples cited in the articles should be marked out in italics, indented from left to 1 cm, width adjustment. Analyzed (key) words or phrases in the examples must be typed in a s p a r s e i n t e r v a l o f 2 p o i n t s , for example:

The use of bold type in the text of the article is not allowed.

The word “Table” with its serial number is put flush right. The name of the table should be given in the next line (centered, without indentation and hyphenation), no dot at the end of the line. The table must be followed by 1 interval blank. If there is only one table in the paper, it is not numbered. The table should settle down on the center of page and not support its field.

Drawings can be created in graphic packages MS Vision or Corel DRAW (it is desirable, as it accelerates time of processing of the sent materials and acceptance on them of decisions), and also means of editor MS Word (but it considerably complicates processing of materials!). Drawings should be compactly inserted into the text, settled down on the center of page and not go beyond the field. In case of use for creation of drawings of editor MS Word before an insert in the text drawing should be necessarily grouped for the purpose of a non-admission of moving of separate elements of the drawing in the text! Each drawing should have the interlinear inscription typed by 11th font, with indented paragraph in 1сm, of the following format (example):

Numbers of sections and subsections should not contain spaces between the numbers and dots. For example:

2.1. → The name of the relevant subsection.

The references to the literary sources in the text are given in square brackets [1, p.5].

The list of the sources (in the order they are mentioned in the text) should be titled “References” and is to be given below the article. Next, you need to specify the list of Analyzed sources and the list of Dictionaries used. Sequence numbers of works in the Analyzed sources are denoted by [1 *] (one-star number). Order numbers of works in the Li Dictionaries used are denoted by [1 **] (a two-star number). If Analyzed sources are not listed in the article, then after Analyzed sources there is a list of Dictionaries used, the numbering of sources in which is made out as indicated above [1 **] (with a two-star number). Font 12 pt is normal. The bibliography should include at least 12 works cited, but not more than 15.

The References, the Analyzed sources and the Dictionaries used should be presented and in Latin (by a method of transliteration).

When registering lists of Internet sources, authors should indicate the title of the site (Internet platform), the email address of the site (URL) and the time of access to the site. For example:
