Greenland – the coldest 
island 
Greenland is an autonomous region of Denmark, bordering Canada and Iceland. The island is located in the northeast of the North American continent and is washed by the Atlantic and Arctic Oceans.
Greenland is the largest island on the planet, its area exceeds 2,000,000 sq. km, but only 1/5 of the surface is not occupied by ice cover. If the Greenland glacier suddenly melts, then the level of the world ocean will rise by 7.4 meters.
Greenland is a "factory for the production of icebergs", of which up to 15 thousand are formed here annually. Ice monoliths are carried by currents across the oceans, some quickly melt in warm waters, and some make a long journey of several thousand kilometers. One of the Greenland icebergs was the cause of the wreck of the Titanic in 1912.
On the coasts free from ice, the climate is marine and subarctic, with frequent strong cyclones carrying heavy precipitation. The average winter temperature is -6 °, in summer +3... +15°. In the area of glaciers, the climate is continental Arctic, with frosts up to -60 °. Snow can fall at any time of the year.
Greenland vegetation is sparse: dwarf willows, mountain ash, birch and juniper are found on the southern coasts, and only lichens can be seen on the northern shores.

Katuak
The Katuak Cultural Center is popular with tourists, which has a cafe, a cinema, a library, and exhibitions.
Mailbox
A notable attraction of Nuuk is a huge, taller than a man, red mailbox, where children drop letters to Santa Claus.
Sismuit
The historical part of the city of Sisimiuta with ancient buildings built in the XVIII century is interesting. Visitors enter the museum district through an arch made of whale jaws.
