Problems passengers face ob board and in the airport

Done by Dmitry Krasnoschyokov, Group E-1605

It’s important to note that nowadays air transport becomes the most popular type of transportation. A lot of people travel by plane to other countries or even to other continents, because it’s the fastest and the most reliable way of transportation and people save their time for other important things. For example, if you want to travel from Saint-Petersburg to London by airplane, it will take you about four hours to get there.

What’s worse, if you choose to travel by air, you can have some problems in the airport. Firstly, you can face with long queues at check-in that really irritate many people. For my experience, it really irritates me when I have a lot of luggage and there are no baggage trolleys available. For example, some travelers say, that they are always a victim of lost or delayed luggage. Some of them say that sometimes their flight delays or even cancels. Unfortunately, airlines can overbook seats and just expect people to be able to take the next flight if their flight is full. That problems really annoy many passengers in the airport.

To add to it, you can also have problems on board. There are a lot of seats on most planes, so there’s not enough leg room even for people, who are not tall. Also, the poor-quality food and drink passengers get on board really annoys them, because this food is so processed and packaged. There are can be some air quality problems on board, but this problem happens very rarely. And at the last, you can face with air rage incidents. Flight attendants off course try to solve this problem, but it can really annoy other people.

Reasons of these problems are often simple. Airlines cut costs; they are cramming even more passengers into their aircraft, while reducing cabin crew, training and quality of service, all of which increase passenger frustration. To crown it all, many aircrafts are equipped with sophisticated devices, but airlines often don’t run all of them at optimum capacity, because they are burns up valuable aviation fuel.

From my point of view, to solve this problem, airlines shouldn’t cut costs. They should provide their passengers with better facilities and should balance cost with comfort. I know that after that tickets can cost more expensive, but, in my opinion, people will pay more for tickets, if they wouldn’t have problems in the airport or on board.

In conclusion, I want to say, that air transport has some problems, but it still the fastest, the safest and the most the most reliable type of transportation.
