Методические указания разработаны для студентов-бакалавров, начинающих изучение иностранного языка в университете. Они предназначены для дальнейшего развития навыков и умений устной и письменной речи в учебном процессе по дисциплине «Иностранный язык (английский)». Основной их целью является обучение чтению, переводу,монологической и диалогической речи, а также закрепление грамматических навыков.

П Р Е Д И С Л О В И Е

Данные методические указания предназначены для изучения разговорной темы «Дом, квартира, комната» студентами 1 курса всех неязыковых специальностей, начинающими изучение английского языка в ВУЗе. Основной их целью является развитие навыков и умений чтения, монологической и диалогической речи по данной теме.

Тематический материал распределён по трём подтемам с целью облегчения его усвоения.

Каждая подтема начинается с расширенного алфавитного словника по частям речи.

Тексты содержат активную тематическую лексику, образцы употребления лексических единиц и служат расширению словарного запаса по данной теме.

Методические указания по выполнению лексико-грамматических упражнений на закрепление и более прочное усвоение лексики помогают организовать как самостоятельную работу студентов, так и работу под руководством преподавателя по указанной теме.

I.The HOUSE – ДОМ

The House

My name is Marina. Our family live in the house in the country. It is a detached house, located near Orenburg. The nature is very picturesque here.

Our house consists of four rooms, a kitchen, a bathroom, two toilets and a veranda. All the rooms are light and sunny. There is also a basement, a garage and a large yard. Our car stands in the garage. In the backyard, there are a lot of fruit trees, pine trees and nice flowers. A dog and two cats live there.

We have also a garden near our house. Our family have to work hard in the garden all the summer.

I study in the town. Not far from our house, there is a bus stop where I can catch the bus to my University.

My friend lives with her parents in a block of flats in Orenburg. They also have a small summer cottage. It is situated not far from the town.

My Friend’s Flat

My friend’s name is Nina. She lives with her parents in the block of flats in Gagarin avenue. They have a three-room flat with all modern conveniences. The flat is situated on the fifth floor of the nine-storied building and Nina uses the lift to go upstairs. On the ground floor there is a laundry where they can wash the things , and this is very convenient.

The flat is very cosy, it has all modern conveniences and looks very modern and nice.

Nina has her own room. This is her study and bedroom. It’s very practical. There is an air-conditioner in the parents’ bedroom.

The living-room has a balcony.

There is also a hall. It’s rather big.

Between the kitchen and the hall there is a long corridor with a bathroom and a toilet there.

In the evenings all the family gather together in the living room. They talk, watch TV and play board games. Their family is very friendly.
