SCIENTIFIC INFORMATION

on participation in the 5th International scientific conference "Language and Intercultural Communication", held in Minsk (May 19 – 23, 2015) and in Vilnius) (May 21-23, 2015).

The 5th International scientific conference "Language and Intercultural Communication" was opened in May 19. It was held in Minsk (May 19 -23, 2015) and in Vilnius (May 2123, 2015).

The conference, which has become traditional, was organized for the fifth time on the basis of the Belorussian State Pedagogical University named after Maxim Tank together with Lithuanian Educological University - its partner.

Belorussian State Pedagogical University named after Maxim Tank is a member of the Eurasian Association of Universities, one of the oldest universities in the country. For the 100 years of its glorious and rich history, the University has gained a high reputation. It has become the leading University of the pedagogical profile. The conference was attended by scientists from 12 countries (Belorussia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, China, Vietnam and Iraq).

At the plenary session Alexander Zhuk, rector of Belorussian State University addressed the participants of the conference and wished them professional excellence, inspiration, implementation of ideas, health, happiness and prosperity. He noted that this conference will give a new impetus to the further development of fruitful cooperation and expansion of mutually beneficial contacts in the field of education, science and culture between universities of different countries. The rector emphasized that this is especially important now, when the Republic of Belorussia joined the Bologna process and became an integral part of the European educational space.

The participants of the conference were also welcomed by Evaldas Ignatavichyus, the Ambassador of the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Lithuania in Belorussia. In his speech he noted that we should continue developing the Belorussian-Lithuanian relations, organizing more often the events acquainting Belorussians with culture, national traditions and history of the neighboring state. Dean of the Philological faculty of Lithuanian Educological University, Doctor in Philology, Professor Gintas Kundrotas stressed that the fruitful cooperation between the two universities gives positive results. In the framework of interuniversity agreements the following measures are being done: development and implementation of joint research projects; preparation and publication of joint publications; organization and participation in joint conferences, symposia; scientific training; academic exchanges, and many others, etc.

Welcoming remarks were made by a representative of the Russian delegation, head of the Department of Western European languages and translation studies of Moscow City Pedagogical University, Doctor in Philology, Professor Olga A. Suleymanova, who noted that the world community in the early twenty-first century has put forward an agenda for sustainable human development, recognizing that socio-economic progress of any nation is determined by the presence of high intellectual potential. A great role is given to the universities. The University should be both educational and scientific organization, and in this connection, the significance of the current international scientific conferences is determined.

In her speech Eugene A. Zhuravleva, Head of the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics of the Eurasian National University named after L. N. Gumilev (Astana, Kazakhstan), Doctor in Philology, Professor noted that the problems concerning language are extremely important for any country, and much attention is paid to them in Kazakhstan. The evidence of this fact is the Program of trilingualism adopted in Kazakhstan, aimed at forming a multilingual and multicultural citizen that vividly demonstrates that the language must be protected regardless

of its social status, since it makes possible a normal human interaction throughout the world space.

The proposed theme of the conference devoted to language as the phenomenon of intercultural dialogue, is especially important in the new conditions of "world without borders", when the problem of the mutual understanding of people of different cultures and traditions, tolerance towards the customs of other countries, an arouse of interest and respect for them become a necessity for mankind. In the age of globalization, the blurring of boundaries between States, intercultural communication issues are of prime importance. “The topicality of the conference problems is determined by the fact that at the turn of the century the scope of researches is expanded, interdisciplinary relations are deepened, new techniques and methods of the analysis of linguistic facts and phenomena appear”, - said Vasiliy D. Starichyonok, Dean of the faculty of the Belorussian and Russian Philology of Belorussian State University.

Five sections work on the first day of the forum. I participated in the 4-th section "The Figurative Language of Literary Text as Condition of its Perception" and delivered the report "Metaphor as Figurative Language Means of Literary Text (exemplified by Germanic heroic epos)".

Besides, there was provided a cultural and excursion program. So, in the evening the participants had the opportunity to attend the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet theatre – the only Opera house and the largest theatre in the Republic of Belorussia, located in Minsk (Trinity suburb). It is music and theatre scene in the country. In the theatre performances are on mostly in the original language. The opera “The Magic Flute” /Die Zauberflöte/ by Wolfgang

Amadeus Mozart won the viewers` hearts.

In spare time one could stroll through Trinity suburb – the historical center of Minsk located on the banks of the river Svisloch. This is one of the few places in the capital, which has remained paving blocks, and low houses allow the imagination to move for a couple of centuries ago...

The second day of the work was devoted to the excursion to the Castle complex "Mir" – a unique monument of the national culture of Belorussia, included in the List of the All-Union cultural and natural heritage of the UNESCO. The Mir castle, this "brightest medieval flower", is a truly fabulous building. It strikes by its elegant, festive look and a harmonious relationship with nature, and its walls conceal a rich history of Grand Duchy of Lithuania and Radziwill – the richest kin in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, the first in the state having received the princely title of the Holy Roman Empire. The architectural ensemble of the Mir presents the Castle Museum of the XVI–XX centuries with full expositions, embankments, beautiful parks and the lake, the Church-tomb of the Svyatopolk-Mirsky princes.

The third day of the conference was held in Lithuanian /Educological/ University of Educational Sciences (lit. Lietuvos edukologijos universitetas, until October 20, 2011 – Vilnius Pedagogical University) – a higher educational institution in Vilnius, the largest educational institution in Lithuania. Forum participants were welcomed by Mr. Algirdas Gaizhutis, rector of the University, academician of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences, Doctor and Professor, who spoke on joint cooperation between the two universities (Belorussian State Pedagogical University and Lithuanian Educological University) under the slogan "Peace without borders". He acquainted the participants with the infrastructure and scientific projects of Vilnius University. Mr. Algirdas Gaizhutis expressed the intention to establish close academic relations with the universities from other countries, to lead extensive project activities, to exchange lectureres and students on a number of joint academic programs.

In Vilnius, the work was organized in three sections, devoted to the study of the phenomenon of language. The report by Valentina A. Maslova, Doctor in Philology, Professor of the Department of General and Russian linguistics Department of Vitebsk State University was listened to with particular interest. In her report, she stressed that language is a verbal treasure of the nation, the means for transmitting thoughts, which it “wraps” into a certain language structure. In

this case, knowledge is not only knowledge about the language. It is also knowledge about the world, about social context, knowledge of the principles of verbal communication, the addressee, background knowledge, etc. The most important achievement of modern linguistics is that language is no longer considered as "in itself and for itself"; it appears in a new paradigm in the context of the participation in cognitive activity. The speaker also noted that the most important object of study in cognitive linguistic are the concepts as mental essences that have the name in the language and reflect the cultural and national idea of the world by man. The speaker noted that concepts are the concentrate of the culture and experience of the people.

In Vilnius the cultural program was also informative and interesting. On the second day there was a guided tour in the city. As is known, Vilnius is one of the oldest cities in Europe. The architecture of the Old town is amazing; the richness of forms and the variety of styles does not leave anyone indifferent. According to the UNESCO, the Old town is the largest historical architectural complex. Due to the abundance of ancient churches, mansions and towers, Vilnius is often called the city of the Baroque style. In the heart of the Old town one can see the Upper and Lower Castle with the remains of the fortress walls, the tower of Gediminas and Castle Mountain. The most beautiful Cathedral reminds of the classic temples of Ancient Greece. It is believed that in its place until the thirteenth century there was a temple to perkūnas - the pagan God-Thunderer, on the altar of which the fire has been burning all the day. The conference participants were able to visit Uzhupis district, a small district, considered to be the likeness of Monmartre in Paris, and many other places.

When the conference was closed, there was organized Banquet for the participants of the forum. The results of the conference work were published in the Proceedings and all the participants received the Certificates.

The holding of international scientific events contributes to the development of linguistics as a science, to strengthening cooperation between different universities in many countries and to exchanging experience.

on participation in the German-Russian Conference“Popularization of Science and Real Economy: Ways Towards” for Alumni of German Programs in Tyumen held on April 2729, 2015

From 27th to 29th of April 2015 a conference devoted to Russian-German partnership in economy and scientific activities was held. Alumni of all German programs and experts from Germany and Russia were invited to discuss questions of economical, political and social life as well as important problems of relationship between Russia and Germany. In this context the participants focused on their private perspectives which contemporary landscape discovers for them: What was more important: their work or study in Germany? How important is requalification nowadays? etc. A wide range of issues was discussed at “round-tables” on actual examples in the educational and economical areas.

Conferences like this one were held in 2013 in Irkutsk and Krasnodar, in 2014 in Altai region and Nizhny Novgorod region. The conference was organized by the German-Russian Forum, the Alumni Community of German academic programs “hallo deutschland!” with support of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), German Embassy Moscow as well as the Government of the Tyumen region, Tyumen State Oil and Gas University and Tyumen State University.

The opening of the conference took place at the Tyumen State University. A. Lysenko, the head of Moscow office of the German-Russian Forum, S. Gross, a member of the board of the German-Russian Forum, G.N. Chebotarev, the president of the Tyumen State University, V.M. Shumkov, the vice-governor of the Tyumen region and the director of the Department of Investment Policy and State Support of Entrepreneurship of the Tyumen region, delivered a welcome speech.

On the first day of the conference partnership between Russia and Germany was discussed in general. The teams led by experts from Germany – Dc. G. Schneider, an entrepreneur and a trainer, and S. Schmid-Engelmann, an entrepreneur and a trainer, too, – compared the image of Russia with a real situation, projected it on their own vision of relationship between Russia and Germany.

Dr. G. Schneider talked in his inducement report “Russia and Germany: modern chances and invitations to partnership” about important points in German-Russian relations in economical and political spheres, about attitude of the countries to the world and to each other, about such values as democracy, human rights, about susceptibility to common danger – terrorism, global warming.

The workshop “the world café” was devoted to German-Russian relationship in the future. The small groups working parallel discussed received tasks at tea and coffee and then drew conclusions. The rules of “the world café” were as follows: three discussion rounds on a pointed problem, one round lasted 30 minutes (Russia in the future, partnership between Russia and Germany, “bridge building” between Russia and Germany); one person at the table was a host, the others were her/his guests; they should speak, listen and present the discussed information visually. In this way in the creative climate the participants arrived at the conclusion that the relations between Russia and Germany in the future will be developed dynamically on the basis of equal partnership and civil initiative, social and educational projects, cultural exchanges, cooperative negotiation of global danger, economical and political difficulties, etc.

On this day the round table “The present situation and perspectives of German-Russian relationship in the Tyumen region” took place with participation of business representatives, persons of social and political spheres in the Tyumen Region. There was an opportunity to make an acquaintance with main lines of partnership that are being developed among the universities, factories and administrative authorities of the Tyumen region and Germany. In the discussion at the

round table well-known persons took part: Consul-General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Yekaterinburg A. Klassen; Chief of Department for External and Interregional Relations (Department of Investment Policy and State Support of Entrepreneurship of the Tyumen region) N.V. Rakitina; Chief Manager of ZAO (CJSC) “Sibschwank” O.V. Khmelev, Director of Economic Department of Tyumen city authorities T.O. Serous, Vice Rector for Research of the Tyumen State University A.V. Tolstikov, Vice Director of the Institute of History and Political Sciences N.V. Dubiv.

External economical relations in different sectors of industry, agriculture, trade as well as contacts in social, educational, cultural, scientific spheres between the Tyumen region and the Federal Republic of Germany were being developed systematically in early 90s of the last century. External economical relations between the Tyumen region (RF) and Lower Saxony (a German state) were especially active. Nowadays enterprises with German investment are working dynamically in the Tyumen region thanks to active regional politics of Government of the Tyumen region in state support external economic and investment activities [http://admtyumen.ru/].

They are “Fekhta” (construction of cages for a poultry farm), “KCA Deutag Drilling” (land rig manufacture for oil industry), ZAO (CJSC) “Sibschwank” (manufacture of infrared gas heaters), OOO (LLC) “Russchwank” (design work and consulting), “Sibnefteavtomatika” (construction of monitors for controlling and regulating of technical process) and some other companies. Besides a lot of projects in research collaboration are being realized: three projects TEMPUS, some projects dealing with climate change, in the fields of Biochemistry and Biotechnologies etc.

The first conference day was finished by the workshop of Dr. G. Schneider “Investments into the future: Russia. Infrastructure is an engine for regions”. The participants worked in small teams simulating Russian regions, f.e. central territories, South of Russia, Siberia and the others. The groups discussed infrastructure problems of their regions (transport, water supply, educational and cultural institutions etc.), sought ways of problem solving and then presented their results to the audience.

On the second day ideas and ways of realization of German-Russian projects were discussed at the Tyumen Oil and Gas University. Dr. G. Schneider presented the paper “Chances of German enterprises in the Russian market”. The questions related to both countries were considered: What do they want to have in short-term, mid-term and long-term outlook? What does a businessman need (capital, labour force, infrastructure, technologies, clientage etc.)? Will he/she work individual or with state support? G. Schneider pointed out that in spite of instability and volatility Russian market is very attractive for German investors in long-term outlook. A crisis period is a good opportunity for market penetration for some businessmen because there are more vacant niches and fewer competitors.

On this day a workshop on Project Management took place under the direction of the trainer S. Schmid-Engelmann. The participants presented their projects visually and discussed those ones on specific examples of their own experience. Project management is considered to be one of main professional competences what can be used in other life spheres. The participants determined the most important elements of a project by brainstorming: an aim, a subject, a target group, target setting, time, planning, controlling, stakeholders etc.

The project development stages were considered: initiation and planning, realization, closing and evaluation. In project management the mnemonic acronym SMART is used. It gives criteria to guide in the setting of objectives. Ideally speaking, each corporate, department, and section objective should be: S – Specific, M – Measurable, A – Attainable, Achievable, R – Relevant, T – Time-bound. Besides each participant analyzed his/her project with a SWOT-matrix which is a structured planning method used to evaluate the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats involved in a project venture.

At the workshop I presented the project “A virtual engineering eco-laboratory” which had been unveiled by the students of Voronezh State University for Architecture and Civil Engineering at the 16th interuniversity academic competition in foreign languages (Voronezh State Uni-

versity for Engineering Technologies, April 2015). The project was devoted to environment protection (a wide subject), ant its objective was to prepare the students for taking part in the academic competition. A target group involved students from the first to the fourth terms who could German on a basic level A1-A2. The time period of the project was about eight weeks (since the start of March to the end of April). Internet, photos and video materials were used as project resource. Main project stages were choosing of a specific subject, problem statement, building of subgroups and choosing of responsible persons, material determination and selection, its processing, composition of a script, script practice, presentation of the project at the competition, evaluation and summarizing.

The third day of the conference was devoted to visiting of Tyumen enterprises with international capital. Job opportunities for young specialists were also discussed. First the participants visited the West-Siberian Innovation Center and the Prototyping Center, became acquainted with residents of the Business Incubator and some projects (“Building of an eco-house in the Tyumen region”, “Automated training programs for speech correction in children”, “Use a fiber ‘Neftesorbiruyushchiy Bon’ to clean up oil-contaminated waterways”, “Robotic simulator for rehabilitation of patients with neurological disorders of motor function”. Then the conference participants visited a fish-processing plant of the company ZAO (CJSC) “Ocelot” and the factory ZAO (CJSC) “Sibschwank”.

There was Science Slam, a competition of scientific talks of young scientists, at the conference, too. Projects from Tyumen, Yekaterinburg, Ivanovo and Tomsk were presented to the audience. Science Slam is an international project to popularize science and it is focused on creation of nice image for young scientists and investigators. Each project event consists of a number of 10-minutes talks where scientists present their own scientific research work. The presentation is judged by the non-expert audience with applause. The project has been most developed in Germany, Russia and some others European countries. Slams have taken place in Russia since April 2013 with support of the German-Russian Forum. Gregor Büning, a creator of this network, took part in Science Slam in Tyumen.

An interesting excursion in Tyumen historical sites was arranged by the organizers of the conference. We could see the Tyumen Drama Theater, the Tyumen Philharmonic, the Iliin convent, the Public Garden of Siberian cats, the Mother monument, the monument of a postman, the Tyumen House for Honorable meeting (the Public house, the House of the merchant Prasolov) at the river Tura, the House of the merchant Fyodor Ivanovich Ushakov, the bridge of lovers, the Tyumen quay and others.

Organizing and realization of such conferences by the German-Russian Forum encourage developing and strengthening of contacts among alumni of German programs as well as bridge building between Russia and Germany. Members and supporters of the German-Russian Forum are companies and well-known persons in different spheres of social life. Requirements for formatting articles for the Scientific Newsletter “Modern linguistic and methodical-and-didactic research”

The minimum volume of the paper is 8-10 pages in the A4 format (CD, Flash Card or e- mail), interval – 1, Times New Roman font, 12 pt., with the following margines: left – 25 mm, right, top and bottom – 20 mm. The electronic form should be prepared with MS Word 7.0 text editor or its later versions. The text of the paper is submitted both in electronic and printed form. The Universal Decimal Classification code number is put in the upper left corner of the first page in bold type, 12 pt. The information about the paper`s author (place of his/her employment, academic rank, position, valid e-mail) should be arranged in two columns in Russian and English.

The author`s initials and surname are put in the next line, bold type, 12 pt., centered. The title of the paper is typed IN BOLD CAPITAL LETTERS, 12 pt., centered, without intent, no dot at the end of the title line. The 1 interval blank is put before and after the title. The title should be followed by an abstract, which volume should be 8 lines at most in body type, 10 pt., its left and right indentation is 20 mm., justified alignment. The key words (6-10 words and word combinations) are given below the abstract. Below is the surname of the author (authors), the title of the paper, the abstract and the key words in English.

The text should be typed in Times New Roman font, 12 pt., in one column. Justified alignment of the paragraph is used. The paragraph first line indentation is 1 cm. All paragraphs should only be installed automatically - done-in MS Word! The examples should be italicized.

Numbering and labeling lists in the text, numbering sources in bibliographic lists should only be done automatically in MS Word! Indent of the text from the number (token) - 0.5 cm

The examples cited in the articles should be marked out with italics, indented from left to 1 cm, width adjustment, for example:

Wenn man aber das Wesen der Sprache überhaupt und dieser beiden insbesondere wahrhaft fühlt, wenn man bis zu dem Punkte der Verschmelzung des Gedanken mit dem Laut ein beiden vordringt, so entdeckt man in ihm das von innen herausschaffende Prinzip ihres verschiedenen Organismus [1*, S. 17].- But if we truly feel the essence of language in General and these two languages in particular, if we break down to the point of fusion of thought with sound in both languages, we find that they (in their body) operate from within different creative [2*].

The word “Table” with its serial number is put flush right. The name of the table should be given in the next line (centered, without indentation and hyphenation), no dot at the end of the line. The table must be followed by 1 interval blank. If there is only one table in the paper, it is not numbered. The table should settle down on the center of page and not support its field.

Drawings can be created in graphic packages MS Vision or Corel DRAW (it is desirable, as it accelerates time of processing of the sent materials and acceptance on them of decisions), and also means of editor MS Word (but it considerably complicates processing of materials!). Drawings should be compactly inserted into the text, settleв down on the center of page and not go beyond the field. In case of use for creation of drawings of editor MS Word before an insert in the text drawing should be necessarily grouped for the purpose of a non-admission of moving of separate elements of the drawing in the text! Each drawing should have the interlinear inscription typed by 11th font, with indented paragraph in 1сm, of the following format (example):

The references to the literary sources in the text are given in square brackets [1]. The list of the sources (in the order they are mentioned in the text) should be titled “Bibliographic list” and is to be given below the article. It should be given in bold type, 12 pt. Bibliographic list is given

in Russian and Latin (transliterated). The author should refer to fundamental and actual works. The minimum references` number should be 10 and 12 at most.

The manuscripts for publication should be externally reviewed (signed and sealed in the place of the reviewer’s employment). Postgraduates` and applicants` manuscripts should also contain their research supervisor’s review.

Postgraduates` manuscripts are published free of charge.

The editorial board reserves the right to select and to edit the papers submitted for publica-

tion.

The references to the Scientific Newletter is obligatory and should have the following format:
