В большинстве континентальных европейских стран, а также В Японии существуют законы, касающиеся бухгалтерского учета, установленные правительством. В США компании, чьи акции торгуются на публичных фондовых биржах, должны следовать правилам, установленным комиссией по ценным бумагам и биржам (SEC), правительственным учреждением. В Великобритании правила, которые называются стандартами, были установлены независимыми организациями, такими как Совет по стандартам бухгалтерского учета (ASB), и самой бухгалтерской профессией. Ожидается, что компании будут применять или использовать эти стандарты в своих годовых отчетах, чтобы дать истинное и справедливое представление.
Компании в большинстве англоязычных стран в основном финансируются акционерами, как физические лица и финансовые учреждения, в этих странах финансовые отчеты готовятся для акционеры. Fraud - the crime of getting money by deceiving people.
Accuracy - the fact of being exact or correct.
Exactness - the condition of having great detail, or of being complete, correct, or true in every way.
Internal audit ‑ an examination of a company's accounts or activities by its own accountantsor managers
External audit ‑ an official examination of the accounts of a company or organization by an expert from outside
Creative accounting ‑ ways of explaining how money has been spent, that hide what has really happened to it.
Employee ‑ someone who is paid to work for someone
else.
Employer ‑ a person or organization that employs
people.
Law - a rule, usually made by a government, that is used to order the way in which a society behaves.
Stock - a supply of something for use or sale.
Stock exchange ‑ a place where shares in companies are bought and sold, or the organization of people whose job is to do this buying or selling.
Fund - an amount of money saved, collected, or provided for a particular purpose.
Tax authority ‑ an organization with official responsibility for collecting taxes.
